BU Wheelock Center For Future Readiness

The BU Wheelock Center for Future Readiness focuses on generating and translating career and workforce development research into practice and policy. The Center collaborates with education systems and youth serving organizations that are interested in designing and implementing developmentally-appropriate and culturally-responsive career and workforce development programs and services.

The mission of the Center is focused on equity and access. By identifying career development strategies that facilitate the development of college and career readiness among high need, high opportunity children and youth (e.g. low income, students with disabilities, underrepresented racial/ethnic minority students, foster care, mental health, and/or rural students), the Center strives to reduce gaps in post-secondary completion rates that make the majority of high need youth unable to access decent work opportunities that offer livable wages.
