At FIT, he developed an interest in the behavioral capabilities of larval reef fish. In the Buston and Atema Labs at BU, he developed a rearing protocol for two species of neon gobies, <\/span><em><span class=\"style_1\">Elacatinus lori <\/span><\/em><span>and <\/span><em><span class=\"style_1\">Elacatinus colini<\/span><\/em><span>, and he conducted a variety of lab and field based experiments to determine their swimming and orientation abilities throughout development. His research interests include animal behavior, sensory ecology and phenotypic plasticity.
