Application

Successful applicants will have:

• Prior coursework in mathematics, computer science, and biology
• Prior computer programming experience
• A strong interest in bioinformatics research and biological problems
• A strong interest in the BU BRITE program

Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.

The following are required: 1) an unofficial undergraduate transcript, 2) one letter of recommendation from a faculty member who can discuss your potential to successfully complete a bioinformatics research project, 3) a resume, and 4) a personal statement (two pages max).  In your personal statement, please discuss your research interests and experience, background in computing/math/biology, involvement in community and leadership activities, career goals, and your specific interest in the BU BRITE REU.  Feel free to list specific REU projects that interest you.
