Montenegro and Serbia: A Velvet Divorce

  • Starts: 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025
  • Ends: 6:30 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025

Join us for a book launch & discussion of Montenegro and Serbia: A Velvet Divorce? with co-authors Vesko Garčević, Director of the Center for the Study of Europe and Professor of the Practice of International Relations at the Pardee School of Global Studies, and Kenneth Morrison, Professor of History (Chair in Modern Southeast European History) and Research and Innovation Director (Institute of Global Challenges and Cultures) at De Montfort University in the United Kingdom.

The book offers a broader overview of the internal political developments in both countries, their interactions and the forging of their own distinct, and ultimately divergent, domestic and foreign policies

Kenneth Morrison and Vesko Garcevic also explore the relationships that Montenegro and Serbia have had, and continue to have, with Russia, China, the EU and NATO, making this a highly relevant study for those interested in global power politics, as well as contemporary political dynamics in the Western Balkans.
