House for the End of the World: Performance: Site and Space Workshop

  • Starts: 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025
  • Ends: 4:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025
BU College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts and School of Music present a Spring 2025 workshop series with the Berlin-based arts collective House for the End of the World (HEW).

This interactive workshop led by performance artist Elana Katz, will invite students to form groups and develop ideas for site-specific installations or performances. Students who attended previous workshops will have the chance to apply the knowledge and concepts they’ve explored, integrating their understanding of performance, technology, and materials into their conceptual designs. We will work in undefined spaces of BU ramp and consider the challenges and opportunities of cross-disciplinary site-specific work.

This workshop is part of a five-part series leading up to The Other One: Dependency, Distortion, Displacement, an interdisciplinary exhibition opening in Fall 2025 on BU's campus. The exhibition explores themes of technological reliance, urban development, and identity, featuring HEW artists Joshua Fineberg (Professor, Composition; Director, Center for New Music), performance artist Elana Katz, and AI and visual artist Dario Srbic, alongside contributions from CFA students.
