{"id":808,"date":"2023-02-22T20:18:13","date_gmt":"2023-02-23T01:18:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/bbrain\/?page_id=808"},"modified":"2023-03-27T15:55:50","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T19:55:50","slug":"chronic-disease-survey","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/bbrain\/other-projects\/chronic-disease-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"Chronic Disease Survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Message from Dr. Jared Younger, Director of the Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue Laboratory:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DNmakGlw6B8\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpasted0\"><span>We at the Neuroinflammation, Pain, and Fatigue Laboratory have released a new chronic disease survey. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"markig5p8wv9e\"><span>I<\/span><\/span><span class=\"contentpasted0\"><span>\u00a0am hoping you can complete it and tell us about your unique medical history!\u00a0I don\u2019t have a grant to compensate everyone who completes the survey, but 20 respondents will be randomly selected for a $50 e-gift card of\u00a0their choosing.<\/span><\/span><span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"contentpasted0\"><span>This survey takes a deep-dive\u00a0into medical conditions, symptoms, and treatments. I believe <\/span><\/span><span class=\"marklg75avcvd\"><span>i<\/span><\/span><span>t<\/span><span class=\"contentpasted0\"><span>\u00a0i<\/span><span>s<\/span><\/span><span class=\"contentpasted0\"><span>\u00a0the\u00a0most\u00a0comprehensive survey ever conducted on chronic diseases. We will be using machine learning tools to discover new targets for\u00a0improved treatments.\u00a0It is <strong>open to people with any chronic condition, and can even be completed by individuals with no medical issues.<\/strong> All the information is helpful to us. When we finish the analyses, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"markig5p8wv9e\"><span>I<\/span><\/span><span class=\"contentpasted0\"><span>\u00a0will do a YouTube video to describe what we discovered.<\/span><\/span><span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>It is a long <\/span><span class=\"contentpasted0\"><span>questionnaire by design, but you can stop and resume\u00a0at any time (using\u00a0the\u00a0same device).\u00a0There are some suggested places to take breaks\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0survey. You can come back and complete it on another day\u00a0if needed. It will likely <strong>take between 1 and 2 hours total<\/strong>, depending on the complexity of your medical conditions.
