Growing and managing multibillion dollar portfolios for\u00a0Morgan Stanley<\/strong>\u00a0($3B) and\u00a0TIAA<\/strong>\u00a0($10B) during his 30+ year career on Wall Street, Barnet Sherman also started his own hedge fund and wrote extensively on the capital markets for Forbes, where he continues to write as a Senior Contributor.<\/p>\n

Now a\u00a0Professor<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0Boston University<\/strong>, he draws on these experiences in his\u00a0Corporate Finance, Accounting, and Multinational Finance and Trade<\/em>\u00a0classes to give the graduate students practical, real-world insights on these complex topics.<\/p>\n

Widely regarded as a subject matter expert in his field, he has served on numerous Boards of Directors<\/strong> to offer guidance and advice. His perspectives on investing and the capital markets have been noted in The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, Barron\u2019s<\/em>, Bloomberg<\/em>, The New York Times<\/em>, Chronicle of Higher Education<\/em>,\u00a0CNBC<\/em>, and Inc.<\/em> among other publications.<\/p>\n

His consulting firm, The\u00a0Tenbar Group<\/strong>, advises public companies<\/em>, private equity impact fund\u00a0portfolio companies <\/em>and\u00a0mission-driven start-up<\/em> clients in the investment management, healthcare, senior care, and housing sectors on strategic transactions, investment banking, finance, business development, and valuations.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sherman also served as a\u00a0Congressional Aide<\/strong>\u00a0(98th<\/sup>\u00a0Congress, 2nd<\/sup> District-NY). He worked to introduce legislation benefitting handicapped Americans<\/a>, drawing wide bipartisan support in both the\u00a0U.S. House of Representatives<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0U.S. Senate<\/em>. He\u2019s testified in\u00a0U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Court<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and for the\u00a0Securities and Exchange Commission<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in Administrative Hearings.<\/p>\n

He is an\u00a0Eagle Scout<\/strong>, ran and finished the\u00a0NYC Marathon<\/strong>\u00a0(4:09:44), completed the\u00a0Wine, Spirits, and Education Trust<\/em>\u00a0Level III Certification, and launched a limited-run\u00a0podcast<\/em>\u00a0series. As a\u00a0SAG Member<\/strong><\/a>, he\u2019s performed in film and television, training at\u00a0Strasberg Studios<\/em>\u00a0for acting and\u00a0Second City<\/em>\u00a0for improv.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sherman earned his undergraduate degree at\u00a0Syracuse University<\/strong>\u00a0and his masters from\u00a0Columbia University<\/strong>\u00a0School of International and Public Affairs.
