I grew up in Washington, Connecticut and studied biology at Haverford College. During my undergraduate research I investigated the cell cycle, and its role in the function and optimization of gene editing of the green algae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. I came to BU and the Alani lab shortly afterwards, and in my graduate work I’ve been investigating the role of lipid uptake and metabolism in melanoma progression, with a focus on modifying the expression of membrane lipid transporters. When not advancing the frontiers of science, I love to read and cook all sorts of tasty dishes, plus explore Boston!
