Tara Miller (they/them) has a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Boston University. They graduated from Williams College in 2015 with a major in Biology and minor in French. They worked in plant ecology research in Norway and Maine, wildlife management in Arizona, and wildlife advocacy in New York. Their doctoral research focused on the effects of climate change on plants and wildlife in North America, using herbarium specimens and wildlife rehabilitation records. They continue to speak French (to their cats) and find mountains to climb. They work as a Policy Research Specialist Senior with the University of Virginia’s Repair Lab where they support community advocates in their work developing policy solutions for an Environmental Justice community affected by coal dust pollution.
