Laura Buckley is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Environmental Health interested in studying how climate change mitigation efforts can also benefit overall public health. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Anthropology from Fordham University and a Master’s of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from Columbia University, with a focus on the health impacts of climate change. She completed research on the health impacts of emerging energy technologies for the California Energy Commission and through her work at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and has grown passionate about centering her research to support policies that promote equitable and healthy energy system transformations. Outside of her work, Laura enjoys exploring new places on her bike and finding new outdoor adventures with friends.
