Meet your UPA 2022-23 Student Board:

Dan MilbrandtCo-President: Daniel Milbrandt, MCP

Daniel R. Milbrandt is a second year Master of City Planning and Applied Sustainability certificate student. He graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Economics and a minor in English with a focus on City Learning. Prof. Jerry Herron ignited Dan’s interest in the City and how it can be used to make systemic change on a local level, enhancing equity and sustainability. Dan moved to Boston on Martin Luther King Day 2010, in the middle of a snowstorm on the eve of Scott Brown’s election (certainly not the most auspicious arrival). Through a love of riding a bike and a strong dislike to getting Dancaked by cars he became involved with the Boston Cyclist Union, MassBike, and Liveable Streets That advocacy led to a desire to do more than just advocacy on the side and work during the day which has led him to the Met College at Boston University. Dan hopes to develop new planning skills and hone soft skills to become an effective planner with a passion for community and transportation planning. Coming soon to a city near you!
