Agencies
In addition to taking advanced courses in trauma and substance abuse the HRSA training project will enable students to gain specialized training in trauma. Field agencies will benefit from this program in a variety of ways:
- Seven seminars a year are offered to students and agency staff.
- Seminars will focus on trauma and co-morbid mental health and substance use disorder identification and treatment methods. Continuing education credit to those attending the seminars will be provided to agency staff free of charge.
- Students will receive stipends for the foundation and for the advanced field internships and will complete two internships in agencies affiliated with this proposal.
- Students will obtain graduate level training and field placements in the targeted communities and continue to provide highly effective services in these communities once they have graduated.
- Field agencies will receive a $750.00 stipend a year for attending the seminars and providing supervision to students.
- Field agencies will participate in evaluation activities.
