Registration & Accommodations

The SIGMAA on RUME 2020 Conference will be held at the Revere Hotel Boston Common. It is hosted by Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development.

Reservations

The conference hotel, The Revere, has sold out of rooms. You can still try to book your room at the conference rate by February 1 in the event someone cancels and a room becomes available through this link.

We have secured an overflow room block at The Hotel Commonwealth.  The Hotel Commonwealth is located in Kenmore Square adjacent to the Kenmore Green Line train station, which is 3 train stops away from the nearest train stop to The Revere.  Train rides cost $2.50 per ride, but you can also purchase an unlimited 7-day pass for $22 (something you might have wanted to do regardless). The total trip time is between 12-15 minutes as trains arrive in Kenmore every 2-5 minutes.  You can book your stay at Hotel Commonwealth through this link by January 27.

NOTE: We had to guarantee these rooms, so we guaranteed more rooms on Thursday/Friday night than we did on Wednesday/Saturday night as not everybody books for the full 4 days. In the event you try to book for more than just Thursday/Friday and there is no availability there may be availability on just Thursday and/or Friday, if that is the case book those and then call the hotel and they will extend you for the same rate. If our rooms are all sold you, you can contact us at RUMEBoston@gmail.com and we will see if there is availability to extend our block.

If you are making your own accommodations, The Revere is located two blocks south of the Boston Common and has easy access to both the Green Line and the Orange Line of the Boston T (subway system).

If you are interested in rooming with someone, use our RUME Roommate google sheet to find or request a roommate. This is provided for the use of conference attendees and we do not match people, it is up to you to contact people:  https://tinyurl.com/RUMEmates2020

Transportation from/to Logan Airport

By Car: Boston Logan Airport is serviced by local taxi and major ride-share services. Taxis are available at each terminal on the Arrival Level (curbside). Customers using a ride-share service (specifically, Lyft and Uber) may only be picked up in areas designated for those services. The designated pick up areas are all located in central parking, there are many signs that will direct you there.

By Public Transit: Two MBTA transit lines connect Logan Airport to downtown Boston.

  • Most direct route: For service from Logan Airport using the Blue Line, board free Massport shuttle buses (Route 22, 33, or 55 to “MBTA Blue Line”) outside your terminal. The Blue Line will take you from Logan inbound to Government Center, where you can transfer to a any outbound Green Line trolley one stop to the Boylston Street station, which is about a block and a half away from the Revere (see map below).   Note: If you use Google Maps, it may have you transfer to the Orange Line at State Street, this also works, but the walk from the stop is less direct (the Tufts Medical Center Orange stop is also on the map below).  If you are staying at Hotel Commonwealth, you follow these same green line directions, but when you transfer to the Greenline you select a B, C, or D outbound train to Kenmore Square.
  • Alternate route: The Silver Line is free from Logan Airport inbound to South Station (including a free transfer to the Red Line). Transfer to the Red Line, which you’ll take to the Park Street station. Once there you can walk or buy a T pass and take any outbound Green Line trolley one stop to the Boylston Street station, which is about a block and a half away from the Revere (see map below).  If you walk, it is about 3 blocks south to Boylston Street station, and the continue on the route provided below.  If you are staying at Hotel Commonwealth, you follow these same directions, but when you transfer to the Greenline you select a B, C, or D outbound train to Kenmore Square.
