Katya LeidigKatyaLeidig

Hello! I’m Katya and I’m the director of PRISM this year. I’m a senior majoring in Physics and Astronomy and minoring in Deaf studies. Outside of PRISM I work for Project Accelerate, teaching AP Physics to students in the Boston Public School District. In my free time I love watching Marvel movies, Irish dancing, and long walks on the Charles River Esplanade. I am interested in cosmology and high energy astrophysics research.

Ryan Cornelius

Heyo, as you can see on the line above my name’s Ryan Cornelius and I am a rising senior Physics major. My research interests mainly revolve around the study of mathematical systems used to model populations such as animals, cell cultures and more! Outside of physics I play ultimate frisbee and also enjoy backpacking, folk music and playing the guitar.

Savannah Decker

Hi everybody! My name is Savannah and I am a senior physics major with a minor in mathematics. Last semester, I did medical physics research at CERN, with a particular interest in PET detectors. I now plan to go to grad school for medical physics. Outside of school, I love to cook, bake and experiment with new recipes. I also love to explore new places in Boston, and am excited to return for the semester.

Annalies Kleyheeg

I’m Annalies, and I’m a senior physics major. I’m originally from Wisconsin and love cheese, beer and the Packers to prove it. Through the Geneva Physics program I worked with GBAR at CERN on their antimatter experiment, and here at BU I work with the CASPEr group to try and detect axions, a candidate for dark matter.  When I’m not doing physics I’m probably playing DnD, baking weird cookie recipes or listening to way too many podcasts.  I’m also the Treasurer and SPS Liaison for BU Photon. Can’t wait to get to know you all!

Sal Pace

My name is Sal, and I’m from Buffalo, New York. I am a senior physics major and former pure/applied mathematics major. In my free time, I enjoy listening to and going to punk, hardcore, and metal shows. I also like to walk around Boston and try out local cafes and food spots. I am interested in what is called theoretical condensed matter physics

Samuel Rosen

Hi! My name is Sam Rosen and I am a senior Physics major here at BU. My time in the Physics Department here has been incredible and I’ve learned so much from my professors and friends and had so many doors opened for me. When I’m not grinding out Physics homework, I like exploring Boston with friends, playing video games, listening to music, going to concerts and catching some Zs. I can’t wait to meet you all and make sure your first year here is a blast!
