Transportation

Boston University’s Charles River campus is accessible by several Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) lines:

Local MBTA subway: the Green B line provides direct access to east and west campus along Commonwealth Avenue.

Local MBTA bus: the 57 bus route provides service along Commonwealth Avenue to east and west campus; the 47 and CT2 routes provide stops near the BU Bridge; and the 8, 19, 60, 65, and 66 routes provide additional options to the east and west sides of campus.

Commuter Rail: Yawkey is the closest commuter rail station to the Charles River Campus, however local MBTA connections are available from commuter rail inbound stops.

Visit www.mbta.com for schedule information.

Optional MBTA Pass: $20

Rapid_Transit_Map-c0c97cc4afdf092cca7f953ff2dbd9aaThis pass will be good for unlimited travel on the local bus, subway, and commuter rail zone 1A during the period of May 24–30, 2018. It will allow you to get from campus housing to the conference venue, area restaurants, and to anywhere in Boston and the nearly-surrounding areas (including Brookline and Cambridge). To learn more about the MBTA and traversing the city, visit BU Parking & Transportation Services, or the MBTA directly.

Please note: you will need to find your own way to Boston University from Logan International Airport (BOS) before you can pick up your pass at the conference venue. To research the best options for getting to campus, we recommend using the MBTA’s Trip Planner, or Google Maps transit directions.

You may also opt to pay per ride (cash is needed for pickup at BU locations; CharlieCards can otherwise only be purchased at most terminals and certain other retail locations throughout the city).

Traveling with Children

Parents who hold an MBTA pass may bring up to two children with them at no additional charge, assuming that the children are age 11 and under. More information for Attending with Children
