| Content | The manuscript deals with the legacy and descendants of the great Mandinka scholar, Foode Heerebaa Daraame (1680-1775), who founded the town of Suunaa-Karantabaa in Pakaawu, the Mandinka heartland in Casamance in southern Senegal. The text deals with the importance of Suunaa-Karantabaa, the descendants and legacy of Foode Heerebaa Daraame, including his four sons and three daughters and their offsprings. The document also deals with the foundations of eleven mosques and villages of Pakaawu and the people who built them. Finally, the text highlights the sacradeness of the mosques of Pakaawu and the divine blessings that those who pray there would receive. Overall, the document highlights the importance of mosques in the foundations of Mandinka villages in Pakaawu. The document complements manuscript 17. |
