Title Punishments for Those Who Do Not Pray on the Judgement Day (Lette Habbiiɗe Mo Juulata Ñande Laakara)
Author or Owner Thierno Sire Bah (author), El Hadj Mouhamadou Sall (owner)
Subject Prayers, God, Islamic Rituals, the Hereafter, Divine Punishment
Content Here a scholar from Dalaba, Guinea advises people on the importance of the five obligatory ritual prayers of Islam. He suggests that God treats prayers as more important than fasting. Examples are provided to demonstrate the significance of obligatory ritual prayers. He notes that King Solomon once missed the proper prayer time before a jihad, and when it was time for war, he suffered despair and more than one thousand of his horses perished. Those who miss prayers, the author writes, will be forced to make up these prayers in hell, in conditions incomprehensible to human beings. The author notes that food can bring blessing and good luck, when prayer times are not missed. However, when prayer times are missed, food loses the blessing from God and merely fills the eater. Another metaphor alludes to prayer being like a river. Bathing in it five times a day keeps a person pure. In other words, there is no such thing as excessive prayer. The author is very concerned that people will miss prayers for a variety of reasons, and offers guidance to make sure each prayer is done at the proper time. Only this, he writes,  can prevent one from the pain of having to make up prayers in the afterlife.
