Content The text contains the names of 99 prominent scholars of Fuuta Jalon who lived between the 16th and early 20th centuries. These scholars lived in different regions of Fuuta Jalon, as some of their nicknames indicate. They specialized in a variety of subjects and produced important texts in prose and poetry dealing with various religious and non-religious subjects. During their lives, they trained numerous generations of students and scholars in Fuuta Jalon, and had a significant impact in spreading Islam and strengthening Islamic practice. Their legacies and influence endure in Fuuta Jalon and in Fula communities in Africa and the diaspora.
