Volunteer Engagement in the Aging Network

Volunteers are critical to the success and innovation of n4a members—and to the Aging Network as a whole—by helping community-based organizations meet increasing service demands under mounting budget pressures. Learn how to build and strengthen your agency’s volunteer program in a brand-new course from n4a University, an online training partnership between n4a and Boston University’s Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER)!

The online course, Volunteer Engagement in the Aging Network, provides agency staff with the tools they need to effectively engage and leverage the skills of volunteers to better serve older adults in their communities. Participants will learn how to assess their volunteer program and create a logic model for further planning and program evaluation. Course discussion will cover the role of staff in leading volunteer engagement and strategies for volunteer recruitment.

n4a has carefully curated the courses offered as part of n4a University to ensure the courses meet the needs of n4a members. n4a University allows n4a members to receive discounted rates on trainings tailored to AAAs, Title VI programs and their provider networks. The new course is two hours long and worth two CEUs. The cost is $60 per student, but agencies that enroll more than 25 people in the course are eligible to receive a discounted price of $40 per student.
