Course Schedule: Fall 2017

This Schedule is often revised. Check it frequently!
Updated: November 15, 2017
Most online readings are from either the CORE-Econ Ebook (C) or the Minnesota Ebook (M)
[I will gradually replace “?” with readings during the course.]

Students are responsible for the contents of all Lectures and Required Readings (Rq).  Questions about the material in lectures and required readings will appear in problem sets and exams.  Reference Readings (ref) are provided for students who need help in understanding the lectures.  Additional Readings (Adl) are provided in case students want to learn more about a topic.  Reference Readings (ref) and Additional Readings (Adl) are optional, not required. For a further explanation, go to Using the Course Schedule.

Abbreviations: Days: T=Tuesday, R=Thursday
Readings: Rq=Required Readings, ref=Reference Readings (Optional), Adl=Additional Readings (Optional),
Ch = Ebook Chapter, Sec = Section(s), i = Introduction
Example: “C – Ch 8: Sec i – 3” means “CORE-Econ Chapter 1: Sections i, 1, 2 and 3”
but “M – Ch 1: Sec i, 3” means “Minnesota-Ebook Chapter 1: Sections i and 3” (but not Ch 1 and 2).
The dates for Online Readings are guidelines only.

*Religious Holidays: Absences from lecture for these or any other religious holidays count against the four automatically excused absences. Absences from discussion sections should be arranged with your TF and will be treated in a similar manner.  Your instructor believes the students who miss classes for religious holidays, in their own best interest, should avoid missing classes for other reasons.
