PhD Positions – Musculoskeletal Biomechanics and Imaging
The Movement & Applied Imaging Lab within the Department of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training at Boston University has multiple openings for full-time doctoral students starting in 2018. The students will contribute to research to investigate mechanisms underlying osteoarthritis and development of innovative rehabilitation interventions.
The students will enroll in the PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences program at BU Sargent College. This position is fully funded and includes a stipend as well as tuition and fees. The PhD program offers outstanding opportunities for motivated candidates to build an inter-disciplinary skill set that will position them to embark upon a successful research career. Our lab is equipped with a 3-D motion capture system, multiple force platforms, wireless EMG system, IMU devices, and a strength testing dynamometer for the study of biomechanics. The lab also offers opportunities to develop hands-on skills with mobile health technologies, musculoskeletal MR imaging, and clinical trials.
Additional strongly preferred qualifications for this position include: physical therapy or research-based Master’s degree, and prior experience with biomechanics research, clinical musculoskeletal research, and/or rehabilitation research.
