This invitation-only work session, hosted by the Boston University Initiative on Cities, will bring together city officials from across the U.S. who are on the front lines of building more inclusive, welcoming communities to learn, share ideas and work through barriers that have stymied success. Participants will hear practical advice from municipal leaders who are forging new partnerships and mobilizing resources inside and outside of city hall. Workshops will delve into ways in which cities can improve immigrant access to city services, foster an inclusive municipal workforce, and successfully partner with police to engender positive community policing.
The Initiative on Cities is an urban leadership and research center at Boston University co-founded by the late Mayor of Boston Tom Menino and Professor of Political Science, Graham Wilson. It researches, promotes and advances the adaptive urban leadership strategies and policies necessary to support cities as dynamic, inclusive centers of economic growth and positive development in the 21st century.
