Creating a Digital Future for Federal Records
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is directing a massive project to transform record keeping in the Federal Government—a shift from paper to all electronic. Responsible for the records of the 275 Executive Branch agencies and departments, the White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court, NARA is implementing an Executive Order and Directive On Managing Government Records to ensure that by the end of 2019 electronic records will be the standard. This presentation will share the challenges and opportunities associated with this mandate, current status of the initiative, and a vision of the larger digital government arena.
