Dr. Freedman is the lead organizer for project components in the California study areas (Southern California and Imperial Valley). These components consist of the usage of MAIAC AOD retrievals for constructing PM2.5 spatial surfaces for Southern California (Aim 2), analysis of satellite retrieval and dispersion modeling fields to assess local particulate pollution issues in the Imperial Valley region of Southern California (Aim 3), and analysis of MAIAC and other satellite fields to assess spatial variations of smoke pollution from recent wildfire episodes (Aim 4).
