UNItiques and HerCampus BU Present: HALLOWEEK Costume & Clothing Swap

October 23, 5pm, GSU

Swap out last year’s Halloween costume for something new! Don’t forget to come hungry–there will be Insomnia Cookies, pizza, salad, candy & more. In addition to the costume and clothing swap there will be a photo booth, henna tattoos, raffles & more.

Boston University’s Liquid Fun Presents: Hallotween

October 23, 7pm, BU Central

What’s spookier than puberty? Absolutely nothing. Performing in the show:
Jack Schuleman, Dani Cutts, Brandon Finn, Will Dowsett, Carly Sitrin, John Morgan Adams, Allie Viti, and introducing Laura Robinson! Tickets are FREE! Doors open at 7.

Acatober Fest

October 23, 8-10pm, Jacob Sleeper Auditorium

Hosted by Aural Fixation and featuring nine acapella groups from BU and beyond, this event benefits BU’s Timmy Global Health chapter. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.

Gore-Fest: A Halloween Reading of Greek Tragedy

October 27, 5-7pm, College of Arts and Sciences Room 313

Hosted by the Undergraduate Classics Association. Searching for a Halloween filled with ghosts, murderers, curses, and blood and guts? Look no further than Greek tragedy. Thanks to the genius of our very own Professor Sophie Klein, this year we’re planning a brand new annual Halloween Greek tragedy reading! No rehearsal necessary – just a love of Greek drama and over-the-top props! We’ll be doing this reader’s theatre/open mic style – watch your professors and classmates perform their scariest and most loved scenes from Greek tragedy! Classics-themed Halloween costumes aren’t required, but they are certainly welcome and encouraged.

A COMPLETELY FREE fun filled night with your friends and fellow residents full of pumpkin carving (5:30-7:30pm), pumpkin decorating (8-10pm), and a spooky haunted house (8-10pm.)

Join CAS Student Government for an eventing of food, fun and fright. Several competitions will rule the evening, including a Mummy Wrapping Contest, a Gummy worm pie Contest and Halloween Themed Trivia. Prizes and surprises galore!

Pumpkin Drop

The annual pumpkin drop will take place from the roof of the Metcalf Science Center onto the ground below. Learn physics via pumpkins! Sponsored by the Physics Department.

Trick or Treat Around the World

October 30, 1-3pm, Howard Thurman Center (GSU lower level)

Satisfy your sweet tooth with candy from England to Japan to Brazil! Each guest will receive one bag to stock up on different treats from around the world. Open to all Boston University students (while supplies last). Held by the Howard Thurman Center.

Coffee and Conversation Talks Fear

October 30, 3 – 5pm, Howard Thurman Center (GSU lower level)

In honor of Halloween, Coffee and Conversation will focus on a primal human emotion – fear. What scares you? How does fear manifest in our decision-making as individuals, organizations, and governments? Are there any emotions more powerful and overwhelming than fear? These and other questions will be explored at Coffee and Conversation.

FitRec’s Spooktacular Halloween Party

October 30, 4:30 – 8 pm, Sign in at the FitRec Lobby

Fun for students, faculty, staff and their families! Climbing events from 4:30 – 7; Crafts from 5:00 – 7:30; Swim events from 6 – 8 pm. Cost: FREE for FitRec members; $15 per family for Non-Members

Spooky Lights & Pumpkin Carving

October 30, 4-7:30pm, 520 Park Drive Lounge

This event will hold a “holiday tree lighting” type Halloween lighting, featuring the South Campus Courtyard decorated with orange/decorative lights.  Pumpkin carving will be held inside the 520 Park Drive Basement Lounge, along with fall themed food and refreshments.  Event is open to all and free to participate. Sponsored by the South Campus RHA.

BU Pub Halloween Bash

October 30, 6pm – close, BU Pub

A costume contest could win you a stash of Convenience Points (great for pub sandwiches) and from 6-9pm, just wearing your costume will get you half-priced appetizers. 21+ only with valid state ID and BU ID. One 21+ non-University guest allowed per person.


October 30, 8-11pm, SAC Gym (1 University Road)

More than your usual haunted house. People are accepted into the Insanitarium on a first-come-first-served basis, so come early if you don’t want to wait in line. There will be treats and drinks available and a movie screening at the location. Our monsters and ghouls will also be manning a photo booth for you guys to capture your last sane moment before you enter. A multi-student organization effort: HKSA, CSA, CSSA, and BUTASA.

20 Penny Performance

Start your Halloween weekend with a bang! Come one, come all to the retro, twisted, and charming 20 Penny Circus: a variety show for those with questionable test. Led by the diabolical clown duo Tyler Sutter and Carl Skenes, the 20 Penny Circus is an adult variety act packed with strange feats, insane illusions, cunning stunts, and fiendish comedy. Expect sword swallowing, instantaneous teleportation, ritualistic mutilation, and more!

The Spooky Jam!

October 31, 3:30-9:30pm, SAC Gym, Quad A

1v1 Popping and 1v1 All styles Mock Jam. A Jam is a dance battle in which two members face off to see who gets to move on to the next round. Mock Jams are hosted for people interested in the street dance community, but don’t want to travel too far or are intimidated of going to an actual jam. The atmosphere is light-hearted and all levels are welcome! Come get some experience, share good vibes, and have fun!! This jam is 100% FREE to attend and enter! Sponsored by Bulletproof Funk.

Towers of Terror

Sponsored by the Towers RHA, this event includes pumpkin decorating (and prizes), donuts on a string, mummy wrapping, food and cider, and a DJ.

Halloween Movie Night

Nothing gets us more in the Halloween spirit than a classic movie, Hocus Pocus! Come join us in BU Central at 8pm for a free screening of the movie. Feel free to bring some candy to snack on while enjoying some quality time with friends! The event is open to all Boston University students.
