Florian Gargaillo

Florian Gargaillo Profile PicI study modern and contemporary poetry from the United States, England, Ireland, and the Caribbean. My dissertation, Echo & Critique: Poetry and Mass Rhetoric after World War II, analyzes how postwar poets confronted the political clichés of their era by echoing specific phrases, and then exploring their implications and examining their effects. My articles have appeared, or are forthcoming, in such venues as MLQ, Essays in Criticism, The Yale Review, and The Journal of Commonwealth Literature.
