As Senior Research Assistant in the Women’s Health Unit, Ariel Maschke supports multiple clinical outcomes research projects under the supervision of Dr. Christine Gunn.  Ariel received her M.A. in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and her B.A. in Communication Studies, International Studies, and Global Health from Northwestern University.  As a 2017-2018 Fulbright-Nehru Researcher, she conducted an organizational ethnography of two non-governmental organizations’ community-based maternal healthcare programs in rural India.  Committed to person-centered health approaches, she previously served as a case manager for individuals experiencing homelessness and co-occurring substance use and/or mental illness, and worked at the Marjorie Kovler Center, a treatment center for survivors of political torture, supporting policy work and a creative writing & public speaking group for Center clients.
