Emotions and Neuropsychological Testing in Youth

What is this study all about?

This study is designed to better understand how different emotions and environmental cues affect neuropsychological test performance.

What is neuropsychological testing?

Neuropsychological evaluations assess how one’s brain functions, which provides information about the structural and functional integrity of the brain. Neuropsychological evaluations usually involve an interview and the administration of pencil and paper tests. These tests are used in medicine, psychology, and education to measure everything from disease progression and  brain injury to ADHD and learning disabilities.

What does the study involve?

Youth ages 12-17 are eligible to participate in this study. We would ask youth and their parent/caregiver to come in for one session. In this session, the adolescent would participate in two cognitive tests. Each test would last about 30 minutes, with a 10-minute break between them. Both parents and adolescents would also fill out some questionnaires.

Parents will receive the results of this evaluation.

Youth can expect to receive a $40 amazon gift card for their participation.

Parents/Caregivers can expect to receive a $10 amazon gift card for their completion of questionnaires.
