BS, Mathematics and Physics, Roger Williams University
Joshua Castigliego became a part of the Institute for Sustainable Energy as a member of the Carbon Free Boston team in May 2018. As a part of Carbon Free Boston, Joshua’s work is primarily focused on analyzing the GHG emissions associated with Boston’s waste management system to inform the City’s decarbonization efforts as it works to achieve carbon-free status by 2050.
Joshua is specifically interested in assessing the GHG impacts of zero-waste initiatives in urban and suburban environments. His research aims to employ a bottom-up accounting methodology to directly assess the GHG emissions associated with the specific quantity, material composition, and management practices of a given community’s municipal solid waste system.
He holds an M.A. in Energy & Environmental Analysis from Boston University and a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics from Roger Williams University.
